Trisha Brenner The clippy capsule has to be closed just right or it falls apart at the slightest bump. My daughter's fell apart at school without her knowing and she lost all of her jinkies.

The clippy capsule is threaded, so yes it does need to be locked in for it to have a good hold. If you aren't happy with the purchase though just let us know and we'll do our best to make it right!
